TO GO WITH AFP STORY IN SPANISH BY BEATRIZ LECUMBERRI General view taken at dawn on September 13, 2009 of the Angel Falls (Salto del Angel), the world's highest waterfall, with a height of 979 m (3,212 ft), near the village of Canaima, Southeastern Venezuela. The Angel falls were discovered by US aviator Jimmie Angel on October 9, 1937, and the site is one of Venezuela's top tourist attractions and recently the Pixar cartoon "UP" was inspired by the scenery of the falls.
