ENGLAND - AUGUST 06: A Kodachrome colour photograph of Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands (1911-2004) taken by JCA Redhead (1886-1954) during World War Two. Prince Bernhard fled Holland for exile in Britain when the Germans overran his country in 1940. He is photographed here as a member of General Eisenhower's staff. He also served as a fighter pilot and in 1944 became commander of the Dutch armed forces. Kodachrome, regarded as the first 'modern' colour process, was announced by Kodak in 1935. Kodachrome film was imported from the USA and was in very short supply during World War Two. As Head of Kodak Ltd's Photo Finishing Laboratory in Harrow, England, Redhead had access to supplies of this scarce colour film. (Photo by SSPL/Getty Images)
