404304 05: Concentration camp victims are led through the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp gate in 1945 in this photo found recently in Moscow. Auschwitz, which is known for one of the biggest Nazi concentration camps during World War II, is a site of many current controversies concerning construction of trade and entertainment centers near and on the former concentration camp grounds. A few years ago protests stopped the construction of a disco. Today an official opening took place for a car park and tourist service center in Oswiecim/Auschwitz, built by the building company, Maja. Maja already wanted to build a supermarket in the area, but was also stopped by protests.
