Picture taken on January 25th, 2008, of packs of seeds of potatoes and sweet potatoes cultivated at the Potato International Centre (CIP) in Lima, Peru. Seeds of these tubercules will be sent to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault (SISV) in Norway at the end of this month. The SISV, the world's largest seed bank built in Norway?s permafrost, was designed with the intention of guaranteeing the survival of crop seeds from natural disasters, wars or even global warming.
