Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden leave court in Glendale, California, 27 July 2007 after Richie pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs. Superior Court Commissioner Steven K. Lubell sentenced Richie to 90 hours in jail, fined her 2,048 USD and ordered her three years' probation, noting that she was lucky nobody was killed when she drove the wrong way on a freeway. Richie -co-star of socialite Paris Hilton on the "The Simple Life"- was arrested on 11 December 2006 after police received reports of a car travelling the wrong way down a busy Los Angeles freeway.
