In this photo taken in Hong Kong on May 10, 2017, 40-year-old father of two, Cedric Ko, holds a board upon which he wrote a word to sum up his Hong Kong, or his hopes for the city over the next 20 years. Ko, posing on coastal rocks facing Hong Kong island (back) wrote 'Dynamic'.
Divided by age, wealth and politics, the people of Hong Kong will mark the 20th anniversary of its transfer from Britain back to China with contrasting emotions: anger and pessimism, pride and celebration. But in recent years there has been increasing unrest, with massive rallies for democratic reform and the emergence of an independence movement in the face of a meddling Beijing. / AFP PHOTO / Anthony WALLACE / TO GO WITH: Hong Kong-China-Britain-politics-social-culture-people by Elaine YU, Aaron TAM (Photo credit should read ANTHONY WALLACE/AFP/Getty Images)
