In this photo taken on December 13, 2016, Supun Thilina Kellapatha and his partner Nadeeka, Sri Lankan refugees who helped shelter fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2013, smile with their baby boy Danath in their flat in Hong Kong.
The story of how impoverished refugees helped fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden evade authorities in 2013 only emerged in September, propelling them into the media spotlight.
After leaving his initial hotel bolthole, he went underground, fed and looked after by some of the city's 11,000 marginalised refugees. Snowden now lives in exile in Russia where he has sought asylum. The refugees remain in Hong Kong, desperately hoping for resettlement elsewhere. / AFP / Anthony WALLACE / TO GO WITH AFP STORY: Hong Kong-Politics-Social-Refugees-Snowden-Canada-US, FOCUS by Laura MANNERING (Photo credit should read ANTHONY WALLACE/AFP/Getty Images)
