45,000 people ran this sunny morning in Amsterdam on October 16, 2016 during the The 41st edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon. Alongside the track they were helped by 1,300 volunteers and thousands of enthousiastic spectators, who screamd and clapped the athletes to the finish line. Daniel Wanjiru broke the 3 year old track record by 15 seconds and brought it to 2:05:21, a fantastic achievement! Ethiopias Meselech Melkamu broke off and powered unchallenged to the womens title in 2:23:20 to quash the comeback dream London 2012 Olympics silver medallist, Priscah Jeptoo who finished fourth had on her debut in the Dutch city.
