Life in Nea Kavala camp near Polikastro, Northern Greece, on 11 August 2016. This camp used to be an operational small airport but converted to a refugee camp as Greece didn't had the proper facilities to host the about 60.000 refugees that are stuck in the country. There is support by UNHCR but the camp is run by the army. It is an open area, a field near the airfield. The temperature is touching many days the 40°C and 4500 people live in primitive conditions. In this camp are hosted many Yazidis. Also in the images you see women crying as they talk about human losses during the war, back home....
