SITTWE, BURMA - MAY 17: Rohingya men stack rice donations from the World Food Program in a storage facility at the Thet Kay Pyin market on May 17, 2016 in Sittwe, Burma. Despite the U.S. announcing it would further ease sanctions in Myanmar to boost trade as a support for its ongoing political reform, the Rohingya ethnic group continues to remain under heavy persecution with over 100,000 Rohingya Muslims left displaced in camps since the ethnic violence in 2012. U.S. President Barack Obama voiced strong concerns over the military government and country's treatment of minorities, in particular the Rohingya, even though the sanctions were lifted with the ongoing progress in the country. The Rohingya are one of the most persecuted minorities in the world and continues to be targeted as the government attempts to remove the very term Rohingya from use.
