GLENVIEW, IL - MAY 13: An abandoned air-traffic control tower is visible amongst retail and commercial space May 13, 2005 in Glenview, Illinois. The original air-traffic control tower is all that is left of the old U.S. Naval Air Station Glenview "NASG" which is the former site that served as a military air base from 1923 to 1995, and at one time had 108 military buildings and 1.5 miles of runways. After it was closed, the property was redeveloped into "The Glen," a 1,121-acre subdivision of residential homes, commercial and retail buildings, a school, a lake, a park, two golf courses and a rail station. The old control tower has been preserved as a historic building. (Photo by Tim Boyle/Getty Images)
