India has developed its first medium range cruise missile called Nirbhay or 'fearless', similar in effect to the American Tomahawk missile. This two stage sub-sonic missile is launched like a rocket and then an aeroplane like engine glides it to its destination. It can carry nuclear weapons and can be used from land and air.
