NEW YORK, UNITED STATES: The Jeffrey Hook Lighthouse which is also called "Little Red Lighthouse" sits on the edge of Manhattan Island beneath the span of the George Washington Bridge along the Hudson River 19 July, 2002 in New York City. The lighthouse is the only one in Manhattan and has sat in its current location since 1921. Construction on the bridge started in 1927 and finished in 1931. With the 1942 success of US writer Hildegarde Swift's book "The little red lighthouse and the big grey bridge", the lighthouse has become a favorite expedition for children and adults alike.
