(Original Caption) Judith and Roger Carr of Westminster, Massachusetts, display their first newborn daughter, Elizabeth, the nation's first "test tube" baby, on December 3rd. The first baby in the U.S. to have been conceived outside the mother's body, the child was born December 28th, at the Norfolk General Hospital. The Carrs resorted to the In Vitro Method of Conception because Mrs. Carr's fallopian tubes had been removed.
