(Original Caption) Mobile, Alabama: Bubbling with emotion and surrounded with tears and laughs of joy, Diane Sawyer, junior miss from Kentucky, was chosen and America's junior miss in the annual competition at Fort Whiting in a colorful finale. Diane was one of the 50 contenders from each state and was selected as America's outstanding high school teenager. Her home town is Louisville, Kentucky. She is 17 years old and a beautiful blue eyed blonde.
