CANNES, FRANCE: American movie director Dalton Trumbo pose for photographer 17 May 1971 in Cannes as he presents his latest movie "Johnny Got His Gun". Trumbo (1905-1976) was a victim of the anti-Communist witchhunt campaign instigated by John Parnell and Senator Joseph McCarthy between 1947 and 1954. In 1947 Trumbo was condemned by the HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee) along with nine other Hollywood personalities. The group is known as the "Hollywood Ten".
