CHERRATA, ALGERIA: Bodies of some of the 27 people killed in a massacre late 10 February 2001 are draped with Algerian flags by members of the security forces 11 February 2001, in the shantytown of Cherata, near Berrouaghia, some 120 kilometers (75 miles) south of Algiers. 27 people, including 12 children aged between six months and 18 years were shot dead or had their throats slit, allegedly by Islamic extremists.
