Iraqi Shiite fighters from the Popular Mobilisation units and Iraqi soldiers put an Islamic State (IS) group flag on the ground, at an army position where an attack was carried out by the (IS) group jihadists in the Abu Ghraib area west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, on February 29, 2016.
The jihadists attacked the position early in the morning and held it until government reinforcements arrived and took it back later in the day, the officials said.
The Abu Ghraib violence killed at least eight people, including both members of the security forces and allied paramilitaries, and wounded at least 22, while IS members were also killed, officials said. / AFP / AHMAD AL-RUBAYE (Photo credit should read AHMAD AL-RUBAYE/AFP/Getty Images)
