During the morning hours police cleared a protest against Burundian President Pierre Nkurunzizza in the Musaga neighborhood using tear gas and heavy machine guns to dismantle the protest. At least one person died in the protest. Since Nkurunzizza announced he would run for a third term last April Burundi has been shaken by violent protests that have left 41 people dead, including prominent opposition leader Zedi Feruzi, and over 400 injured The Burundian constitution limits presidents to two terms in office.
