SAINT-ETIENNE, FRANCE - NOVEMBER 05: Guillaume Verney-Carron is seen at the Verney-Carron factory on November 5, 2014 in Saint-Etienne, France. The Flash Ball is a non-lethal weapon used mainly by law enforcement officers in riot situations as an alternative to firearms. The non-lethal weapon is manufactured by Verney-Carron, a French weapons-manufacturing company based in Saint-Etienne, which has been making firearms under that name since 1820 and has its origins in producing shotguns and rifles for hunting. Verney-Carron is the official supplier of the Flash Ball to the French Police and sees 80% of its production of the weapon sold outside of France. (Photo by Bruno Vigneron/Getty Images)
