The archbishop of Bossangoa, Nestor Desire Nongo Aziagbia, looks at internally displaced persons (IDPs) in an IDP camp for Christians in Bossangoa, a village 300km away from Bangui, on December 17, 2013. In the last few weeks, the town has become divided into two, with an IDP camp setup for Christians and one setup for Muslims. Over 40 000 people have found refuge in the Bossangoa camp for Christians in the last two months as they flee violence between ex-SELEKA rebels and anti-Balaka militiamen who were formerly part of the national army. France today said other European nations would send troops to the Central African Republic to prop up a military force on the ground attempting to disarm militias dispensing deadly violence.
