10/29//09 - Tony is a temporary foreign worker from Honduras who quit his farm job in Alberta -- it was more work and less pay than promised, he injured his knees and, in the end, didn't have enough money to send to family back home. He made his way by bus to Toronto, where he is now working illegally. He is part of a series on the many problems with the federal government's temporary foreign worker program. There's a trend of foreign workers leaving jobs -- due to abuse or recesssion layoffs -- and gravitating to Toronto's underground economy. Tony is one of them. He can't be identified in the photo.
