POINT HOPE, ALASKA--JULY 26th 2010---Point Hope native, Eunice L. Lane holds her son, Lennie, 3-years-old, who fell asleep in her arms, at her home in point Hope Alaska Monday, July 26th 2010. Point Hope Alaska, population of 800 people, is located along the Chukchi Sea coast of the Arctic Ocean. Lane has a long history of whale hunters in her family and relies heavily on their subsistence culture of hunting whales, seal, caribou, walrus, salmon fish and many other species and have for thousands of years. Eunice Lane, holing her three-year-old son Lennie, said that Point Hope is a community rich in tradition and family. "I want my son to be able to grow-up the way I did.
