Mediterranean bream fish (Sarpa salpa) are pictured in the Mediterranean Sea, off the Sormiou creek near Marseille in southern France, on September 7, 2012. An ivestigation by the University of British Columbia in western Canada, published by the journal Nature Climate Change, reported on September 30, 2012 that a hearty fillet of fish, already a rare treat because of over-trawled oceans, will become even more infrequent in the future when global warming starts to reduce fish size. "A warmer and less-oxygenated ocean, as predicted under climate change, would make it more difficult for bigger fish to get enough oxygen, which means they will stop growing more", according to scientist Daniel Pauly of the University of British Columbia.
