Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Prize winning author Ernest Hemingway convalescing in Italy in April 1919 after being seriously wounded during World War One.  His classics of American literature include "The Sun Also Rises", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "The Old Man and the Sea", "A Moveable Feast" and "A Farwell to Arms".
