French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen Francois Michelin, advisor to the supervisory board and former chairman of French tyre maker Michelin, is seen during a general assembly of the group on June 3, 2009 in Paris. Shares in the auto maker rose strongly on June 2 after the company said it was considering possible tie-ups to help it keep its edge. Last month, Peugeot reported a first-quarter slump in sales and output of nearly 25 percent, "reflecting the seriousness of the crisis the auto industry is facing".
