Also seated are Sandy Turnbull (3rd from left) and Billy Meredith (far right). The highlight of the season was United's victory over Swindon Town in the FA Charity Shield match at Stamford Bridge on 25th September 1911. Manchester United won a remarkable match with a record scoreline of 8-4. Harold Halse (2nd from left on the back row) scored 6 of the goals, with a hat-trick in each half.
