Hundreds of people demonstrate against Lebanon's denominational system on March 6, 2011 in Beirut, calling for a secular state. A protest was held against Lebanon's governmental system of a power-sharing agreement maintaining a balance between the 18 religious sects, the agreement calls for the president to be a Maronite Christian, the prime minister to be a Sunni Muslim and the speaker of parliament a Shiite Muslim.
