Diyarbakir, TURKEY:  Turkish Kurds throw stones at the police in protest 30 March 2006 during the funeral procession for three people who died during clashes 29 March as deadly Kurdish riots flared for the third day in row in Diyarbakir, southeastern Turkey. Some 10,000 people took to the streets in Diyarbakir, the central city of the mainly Kurdish region, for the funerals of the three people killed in the unrest that has been wreaking havoc in the city since Tuesday. The mourners brandished flags of the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has fought Ankara since 1984, chanted slogans in favor of jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan (in poster) and stoned journalists. Violence erupted 28 March after the funerals of four of 14 PKK rebels who had been killed fighting the army over the weekend.
