Apple launched the iTunes Music Store on April 28, 2003, an online music store that lets customers find, purchase and download music for 99 cents per song. Apple CEO Steve Jobs has described the iTunes Music Store as a way for consumers to legally download music from the Internet while protecting the rights of the artists and music companies.
