MARTINSVILLE, VA — April 27, 1969:  Richard Petty (No. 43) leads Bobby Allison (No. 22), David Pearson (No. 17) and Buddy Arrington (No. 67) during the Virginia 500 NASCAR Cup race at Martinsville Speedway.  Petty went on to score the victory ahead of Pearson and Allison, while veteran “independent” driver Arrington had one of his best career finishes in fifth.
