Members of the "Comida Basura" ("Junk Food") activist group, which aims to raise awareness on the wasting of food, show pears taken from trash cans outside a store, in Madrid, on June 27, 2012. Activists of the "Comida Basura" movement are organizing free dinners in a courtyard garden in Madrid using left over produce taken from trash bins outside supermarkets and smaller food and vegetable stores. The members carefully select the ingredients which are still fine to use for cooking. The collective calls on people to not waste food, especially in a time of economic crisis, and helps in a practical way people affected by the crisis or simply facing a difficult financial situation by offering them free meals.
